Another inspiration of mine is artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
She is probably best known for her paintings of colorful flowers, some of which are in extreme close-up mode, which really captures the eye.
Enjoy these pictures that I borrowed from the internet:

Happy Fall Break to my students!
I am relaxing at home with my family, and I hope you all are as well.
As an older kid and eventually as a teen, I used to rush home from school so I could watch Bob Ross on t.v. Bob Ross was a talented guy who demonstrated his special oil painting techniques on a show called The Joy of Painting.
I had gathered a few videos from youtube, but they created some problems on this blog, so I removed them and grabbed some pictures instead.
Enjoy!

It is good to have artists that inspire you.
One artist that inspires me is a guy named Alphonse Mucha.
Here is a bit of information from wikipedia:
” Alfons Maria Mucha[1][2] (Czech pronunciation: [ˈalfons ˈmuxa] (
listen); 24 July 1860 – 14 July 1939), known in English as Alphonse Mucha, was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist,[3] known best for his distinct style. He produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements, postcards, and designs. “
I really like his art style, and I also like the advertisements that he drew back at the turn of the century. His use of lines and detail really challenge me personally. He also used to paint people really well. Some of his paintings were actually hidden from the Nazi’s during World War II, and then rediscovered many years later.
Here is some of his art:
